The properties of PMR-15 depend on the polymer structure. To examine the issues involved with TMF, a detailed experimental investigation was conducted to characterize the durability of a T650-35/PMR-15 SMC subjected to TMF mission cycle loadings. Fatigue damage progression was tracked through macroscopic deformation and elastic stiffness. The diffusion-reaction partial differential equation system is solved using Runge-Kutta methods. Simulations illustrating oxidative layer growth in a high-temperature PMR-15 polyimide resin system under isothermal conditions are presented and correlated with experimental observations of oxidation layer growth.
