This orchid species likes it's roots well watered, however well drained and good water quality. Phragmipedium kovachii Phragmipedium kovachii, discovered in 2001, is the most remarkable new orchid of the last 100 years. The flowers of wild-type plants are 4-6 inches (11-15cm) across, by far the largest flowers in the Phragmipedium genus. The flowers are a bright pink color, and have very good shape, with wide petals and dorsal sepals.
